Besides a winter light expo, a winter lab and a winter market, the futuristic winter light festival, OrbitFest, also offers a programme consisting of light workshops: the festival offers a platform for makers and hackers from the Northern Netherlands who would like to give special light workshops to visitors during the festival.

Light workshops may include lighting or the processing of light in home or garden decorations, clothing, accessories, cosmetics etc.

Among others, well-suited themes regarding the festival story include (sun)light, the cosmos (stars, planets etc.), space travel, recycling machines.
If possible, these works will be presented during the festival as community art light installations.

During the festival we strive to offer a diverse and extensive selection of short to long, low threshold workshops at cost price, suitable for different age groups (4+, 8+, 12+).
